Sir Harold Evans, the former editor of the Sunday Times, died Wednesday of congestive heart failure. He was 92 years old. Evans is remembered for leading that paper’s investigation into thalidomide in the 1970s. The scandal the Times uncovered led to higher payouts for victims.
